General Discussion / Re: MUSIC

Well I have used  that technique in Trance music and it sounds excellent since my program let's you play the instrument basically and then record it for use in a project file. The problem is that my program's synthesisers produce high pitched strings which rarely produce the uplifting effect of Trance music.

This is the link to a tiny sample of a more uplifting string I made.

15 minutes. Seriously. My composing style is... not standard.

Put simply I have an idea in my head about the tune, then I choose a key signature.  That depends on what I feel at the time (usually I think about C, then add in the feel of the music. With that one, I added a key change up a few semi-tones to add a change in it). Then I get the rhythm, and the single notes that make up the tune.

After that, I build the chords around that. Then all other instruments base around those chords. That's literally how I compose all of my tunes. It sounds nice when done right, but I don't recommend it to real composers XD

But I'm impressed with that one. Soon I need to be bothered to add my first tune, that's sadder sounding and more evil. But thanks! It's probably going to be applied in the game I'm making with support from someone else at this website: http://neongenesis.ucoz.com

That is a excellent backtrack. How long did you take to make it?

Yea, I've started composing. I've learned that my passion is music. Although It's more of a dream job than a target, I'd love to be a game composer:

I'm posting this hilarious one up in contrast to the previous depressing one.

Just a little background I failed to specify earlier...the country of which this video originated is Turkey and the two cats were strays.

But putting aside the fact that random strays would never be sent to be treated in any country, I'd say the cat had already passed on at the time of the video, so calling a vet probably wouldn't have helped.

Regardless, this was a tear-jerker for me.

Well obviously the secret in relationships is that the human character is categorized into different sectors. This obviously leads to the fact that this is a winning discussion and, hence, we are all slaves in KA.D's world.

Not really sure what part of that you didn't understand

Art Showcase / New Project ROL Art Style (maybe?)
« Last post by Jason on May 18, 2010, 12:59:22 PM »
Now, this is purely trial-error testing to see how much time, effort, and overall enjoyment is involved while using this style in the possible* (though still unlikely) chance that I start up Project ROL again. I'm also weighing the pros and cons of changing to a new style.

Pros
Consistency easier to achieve
More realistic perspectives and shadows
Fast to create after initial modeling (?)

Cons
Looks generic and not unique
Appears video game-ish
Loses "personality" achievable through drawn media
Hours needed to create initial models (?)

Sample Image
And below stands the image that uses the style. It would be for a scene that hasn't been played out yet in Project ROL. In terms of finishing the image...I still need to add little trinkets of junk to the shelves to make it less bare and uniform.
