| Thanks for the comment, Alekona. I am still a bit unsure as to what direction to take with the Angelus (in terms of their appearance), so I'll just sit back and wait to see what the other readers are thinking. All of you are giving good suggestions and comments...many of which I hadn't even considered myself until reading them. So the more feedback I receive, the better ^_^ |

| I prefer plain Angel to a latin term. Also I'd expect god to use archaic language, maybe Haru, too, but the resistance wouldn't do that. I would think they'd use a common name, maybe a bit derogatory, or the scientific name, which would be 2 latin words, not one. Of course, the whole thing would take one a new meaning if the original scientific name would have been Angelus something, those things not being real angels at all, and then the common people started calling them Angels, because you wouldn't catch a lot of people dead using a scientific name. The intelectuals would keep the original Angelus, but everybody else would use something that would make it clear that they don't like the angels.
For an example of what I had in mind - Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - the great alien enemy is a bee-like creature, which all the people call "bugger", while scientists call them "formics" or something like that. Demonisation of the enemy and reducing the scariness of them. |
