| Why take the new page out of the homepage? Navigation is harder that way - make sure that the access to the latest page is big and stand out as much as possible.
New banner looks nice, if a bit untidy. I'd expect it to look better inked and colored. |

| I was also thinking about prettybosson's comments about the new page... But if you aren't going to put it in the front page, and you said the banner isn't supposed to be a bother in the pageview page but could be in the front page, then the layouts must be different... Do you have the other page's layout planned too? |

| Well, I think that the first panel's faces don't look very good. I find the front view is extremely good, but it's just the side view you need to work on. |

the new one you're designing is too big, and in it's current form, it looks unfinished. The faces are great in this page, she looks genuinely surprised. very nice. |

| i know i know. but it's still too high.
As for resolution. 1024 is a perfect width. Don't worry too much about 800x600, less than 1% that i see on my own site uses that. |

| THanks for all the comments. This may come to a surprise, but I do have a reason for everything I do when it comes to webmastering work. No need to worry too much there. As for the 1024 arguement...no, you shouldn't build websites assuming 1024x748 resolution because...not only does many people still use 800x600, even for monitors supporting a full 1024, that's assuming the reader has the window maximized. Personally, I often have my browser windows sized at around 600x400px so that I can manage multiple windows at a time with a number of tabs in each. Plus people like to have the bookmarks sidebar up, and that cuts a 1024px window down to around 900px or even 800px depending on the sidebar and browser. |
