| Jason I dont mean to offend but you have done better. It could just be you getting used to new equipment, bu maybe you shoould have had a few practice runs before diving in head first.
Thats just my oppinion though. |

| I don't think it looks any worse :)
If you have a wacom Ubuntu has the drivers setup by default. I had tried installing them on another distro but was never able to compile the kernel driver property :P With ubuntu I just plugged it in and restarted X. |

| I agree that it doesn't look any worse. In fact, Yasu's facial expression seems a lot clearer, which is great!

| @Treuko: Haha, I admit I do like to dive head first into things...but at least it's better than staying idle all day, eh?
@Me: Well, I got it to work just fine on Gentoo Linux, but it's just not nearly as well supported as it was on Windows. Plus I got the new Wacom Bamboo which isn't supported in Ubuntu's 2.6.22 kernel (I don't think they upgraded to 2.6.23 yet...). Anyway...this page marks the first time I used my tablet on a page...I can only go up from here, right? |

| hmmm why do you always use "... ... ..." when some character doesn't say anything? you can actually leave something like that out. >_> I personally think it's kinda annoying to have a speechbubble for nothing then "..." |
| by Quill @ 17 February 2008 06:28 am |
| Crazyfreak: Well, in my experiance the "..." is not when they don't say anything, but it symbolises them wanting to say something but are unable to say it, which you can't physically draw so that's why the "..." is there.
Also the art seemed to have changed slightly in the past few pages, is this intentional? |

| Ah I see. I have an Intous 3 (got it before bamboo came out). Is the bamboo nice?
I only ever use the pad and none of the buttons or the touch/scroll thing. So I don't miss anything with linux (also for me the drivers work better and the pen draws smoother.) |

| Her face(s) in the last panel look a strange. But I can't put my finger on it. Also, personal opinion, I don't think this comic took a nosedive in quality. I think that you've been going downhill a little since the 7th comic or so. Keep at it, though. You have potential. |
| by Arachnid @ 17 February 2008 05:32 pm |
| I think the lips and eyes in the last panel look great. I think you're going to see a lot of improvement with your art in the next couple weeks. Good buy. |

| I think on the last panel the art on Yasu took a realistic look, judging from the face and especially the nose. This could just be my failing eyesight though...
That last panel looks good though, but it doesn't have that manga-feel to it. It isn't bad or anything, it's just I guess... different from your usually work... but I still like it all the same. Keep up the good work =) |

| When are we getting that highly anticipated porn comic??? I have my calendars marked and am ready to go!
Are you going to use the tablet for it now?? |
| by That_Guy @ 18 February 2008 08:03 pm |
| Heh, how long has it been since I've been on here? Style has changed a lot. Just wanted to tell you that I haven't left forever. Computer has been down for 3 months.... |
| by Byrdo @ 19 February 2008 10:42 pm |
| You're style looks a bit off. But I'd say quality is about the same. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about neatness. No offense or anything, but your comic was never really neat in the cleanish sense. That's just your style.
Congrats on the tablet. I inherited a tablet of my own. It's my baby. ^__^ Unless you ink on paper first, your comic won't be that neat looking, so don't depend on it too much. |
| by Skiri-ki @ 20 February 2008 07:59 am |
| Congrats for the tablet. I've got a Wacom Graphire and it works just fine once I got this link compiled and installed on my Debian ^^
I'd advice to simply try again :) Also, why didn't you just install virtualbox and virtualize Windows? might have saved data, trouble and disc space and your PC would have been without this big security hole called Windows ;) |
| by Jason @ 20 February 2008 03:38 pm |
| @Skiri-ki: Thanks for the suggestion, but the linuxwacom doesn't support Wacom Bamboo yet...which is exactly why I could install it onto Gentoo without multiple hacks...and even with those it was still lacking in terms of functionality...
Nevertheless, I'm content for the moment with the 7gb windows partition. I don't allow it to connect to the internet and the only software I've installed on it is Photoshop and the tablet driver...so I don't suspect it'll crash on me any time soon. @everyone else: thanks for the comments. I'll be addressing the comments regarding my "style" on the next page ^_^ |
| by Null @ 21 February 2008 03:20 am |
| I have to agree with Arachnid about Yasu's face, it has never looked better ^_^
Are you aiming for a realistic style or just experimenting? Congrats with the new tablet aswell :D |
