bottom panel - something very heavy lifter with one hand? she's strong...
Since this is a bombing and attack site, u can have her pick up any number of debries with all shapes and sizes, but it's most likely to be made of concrete or rock, so it will be heavy.
2nd panel - is he doing something to the ground? if he's aining in front of him, make the hand or the wiggly lines point the right way.
Content of text bubbles - he sounds awefully resigned to the fact that he's outlived his usefulness. Oh, well - hopefully he's planning something, because Yasu doesn't sound like she has a plan.

Im loving this comic...MORE! XD
by Soar @ 26 August 2007 09:31 am
I agree with Kezzel. MORE! XD

@pretty_blossom:
Well, supposedly the "stone" aka "debris" aka "rubble" is closer to us...so that's why it looks larger at the still-image. I probably didn't do a very good job depicting that =P Maybe the coloring will make it more obvious...

She's just throwing it as a distraction...I imagine it's no bigger than a baseball.

And the hand thing...he's prepping up to do something. Again, it'll be more clear after I get my hands on a Photoshop-equiped machine...
by Sean @ 30 August 2007 02:33 pm
I know what the bottom panel is... it's showing the rock at a close distance while she is further... how could you not get that? no offense... >_>
by Soar @ 30 August 2007 02:41 pm
I didn't get it at first, but now that its been pointed out, it's obvious.

Can't wait for the next page!
by Delphian @ 30 August 2007 06:13 pm
Sweet, gogo coloring time!

(I suppose since this is just a temp comic the grammar and spelling mistakes will be fixed in the final version.)
by Jason @ 30 August 2007 09:29 pm
Heh, good timing Delphian...yes...I'll upload the colored page today =P
by Kojiki @ 31 August 2007 04:51 am
Nice, colourings improved a lot. And I still like the idea of Yasu hurling a boulder even if its obviously a pebble. Just because it'd be hilarious to see the angel's face before it hit.
by pretty_blossom @ 31 August 2007 11:51 am
just for ur information: rock or concrete are heavier than balls the same size - density and such mean that to pick up a throwing rock comfortably in one hand it would have to be roughly the size of the hand. That thing is bigger than her head, and I just can't see it being any smaller by perspective.
As for the hair-colors - it looks nice, even though hair is not supposed to be shiny without a light-sorce to make it shine. Also my pet peeve about pink not being a girly color is starting to emerge, so I'll stop. I like ur new technique, even if I don't like the actual colors.
by Jason @ 31 August 2007 12:37 pm
Heh, yeah...I know what you mean. I used to compete in shotput in track and field and those iron shots are hard to throw...even though they're only a little larger than a baseball.

But the rubble is supposed to be small...if you want to think it's larger, just imagine the a less dense rock. Perhaps a more flexible material or a light-weight metal is used instead of concrete in this environment. It's a science fiction city...who knows what the buildings are made up of lol

Yikes! "Rid of my existence" isn't right =(

"Get rid of me", or "Rid the world of my existence" maybe.

But I like the sweet photoshop effect B)
by Ameides @ 31 August 2007 03:20 pm
OOooOOo.... nice effect! ^^
by Soar @ 01 September 2007 06:26 am
Delphian, possibly "Be rid of my existance"
what do you think?
by Sky @ 01 September 2007 09:19 am
Yasu looks soo awesome in panel four! Especially her hair!

Delphian’s right. The sentence has to have a subject.

@ pretty_blossom:
Wrong. If the stone was flying towards your face you’d see it that big.
by crazyfreak @ 01 September 2007 10:11 am
About the stone problem, its easy to solve. Just draw a little panel where you can see Yasu picking up a stone. Then we know that she picked up and that she throws it in the next panel. Because at first sight I had no idea what she was doing in the last panel.
by Delphian @ 01 September 2007 11:15 am
Eh, "You want to be rid of my existence", sure. It's funny, Sky defined what was missing from the sentence (a subject) whereas I just instinctively knew o.O

About the stone, it made perfect sense to me the first time I saw it...it's just a dimensional effect, the stone is closer to the "camera" and thus "bigger". What's the problem?
by Ameides @ 01 September 2007 02:05 pm
Being the outside-deprived person that I am, I really couldnt tell that the stone was coming towards the fourth wall... But that was because I was confused with Yasuko's pose. After reading the comments I realised that it was more of a sporty throw thing where you throw with the rest of your body too... I was thinking of a girly throw where you just use the arm! XP (I should really work on that, the things I throw go only goes a few yards...)
by Loki Fenrisulf @ 02 September 2007 02:57 am
...I was gonna say that i would not be possible to the rock look bigger for beign closer, but I read Ameides' comment and now this one is useless...
by Delphian @ 02 September 2007 02:55 pm
Well I just give credit to Jason for inventive "camera" angles, utilizing the 4th wall and all, even if it did confuse some people :P
by Quill @ 02 September 2007 03:24 pm
Erm Loki, no matter what it would look bigger when it's closer. I knew that when I first saw the page.

I wonder how so many people get confused just because she doesn't have military training and is a female. Cmon! She could do sports like Cricket (or Baseball if it's an american-derived future) or even could just be very fit. We don't know much about her personal life so she could be extremely strong for all we know.
by That_Guy @ 02 September 2007 05:29 pm
When I first looked at the comic I wasn't sure what changed, but I knew it looked better then many (if not all) of your pervious coloring. Seeing as this is such a good result from such a subtle change I'd say stick with it, but vary the amount of shine to go with the hair color. I'm not gonna ask you to do any long term things because I know school is much more important, and learning in depth anatomy to improve drawing is very unrealistic. I'm liking your style though, keep it up and keep improving and soon enough Gen. 5/6 might be a competitor of The Phoenix Requiem (Made by the author of Inverloch, hasn't started yet, but if its anything like Inverloch it'll be #1 for the next 4-5 years).
by Tom @ 03 September 2007 11:22 am
I liked the colouring on this page and felt it was special before you pointed it out. Nice work and almost as good as an update.
by Loki Fenrisulf @ 04 September 2007 04:02 pm
Er... Quill, I meant that I was going to say it wasn't possible because she would need to be trowing it on the direction of the screen, but her position would not let her. I thought just saying I changed my mind after reading Ameides' coment would be enough, since he said exactly that he was confused by the position she was using to throw the rock too.
by Jason @ 05 September 2007 01:00 am
Heh, well thanks for all the positive comments about the coloring job!
