Project ROL: Page 85

Page 85
ONE NEW PAGE. This page is rather significant for me as a graphic novel artist. Previously, I have always sketched pages on paper, scanned them, and colored them in an image editing software. On this page, however, I decided to do it from start to finish on my laptop, thus cutting out the "by-hand" process. So here you go. A page entirely done under a digital medium.

However...being "significant" to me does not necessarily mean it is a good page. You can probably tell that I was rather hasty by the time I reached the bottom panel where I more or less just scribbled the details. I admit, it was a bad choice to choose this page for testing a new means of comic-making...especially since the drawings itself required more effort than my usual scenes...

In other news, I think I have most of the aesthetics for the new layout done! Here's the new home page design and the new comic page design. As you can see, I have FINALLY gotten around to coloring Haru and ultimately finishing the banner; it looks infinitely better with a colored image. The "comic page design" is (as you may have realized) a compact version of the home page design, thus allowing the comic to load immediately rather than having to load AFTER the banner and sidebar as is with my current layout. Also, a compact layout means less scrolling...so obviously, this makes reading Project ROL more pleasant for people reading in bulk.

Ah, moving back to the new home page design, I added in an "updates" box so that I can inform readers of new pages AND redone pages (redrawn? republished? What's the correct word to use here?). Yup...I intend to redo some parts of the archive someday, so keep an eye out for that ^_^

Nevertheless, please give me your opinions now regarding the layout. The later you give me suggestions, the harder it is for me to fix. Clearly, you would want me spending my free time working on the comic over the layout, right? Oh, but don't bother telling me NOT to change my current layout. I know many of you are attached to this darker one, but I have full intentions of discarding it. Don't fear change, kids.

Well, that's all for now. Enjoy the new page ^_^
