One new page. Just FYI, the stuff God is telling Adam to say is a paraphrase of page 62 where the birth of the first human was explained. Also, I'm still having trouble getting the faces right, but it'll improve with time.
On a different topic, I've been working on the new Project ROL layout again. I decided to redraw the
image of Adam (I'm calling him Adam right now because technically you guys don't know his other name). Personally, I like this version much better than my
previous version because (even though it's only been a few weeks) my drawing has greatly matured. I mean, ignoring the extra props they're "holding", the way I posed Adam really influences the overall feel of the image. In fact these two images really show how the way a person stands can influence how others convey their personalities.
Moving on to the second reason why I redrew the banner: I decided I didn't like how the "Angel" uses a static weapon. I mean, these are God's servants...why are they using such human-like weapons? Plus, you have to admit, it'll make a much cooler-looking fight scene if the Angels were duking it out with these fluid weaponry. Oh, and it'll at least make those scenes fun to draw ^_^
A final note regarding the banner, Adam is NOT an Angel. There have been some readers who disliked how I'm supposedly "spoiling" some hidden plot twist or something, but they are just looking too deeply into it. As I mentioned in the forums, I could have stuck any human behind that Angel's mask and it would still make sense. I chose Adam because he's the "protagonist" as God called him (though technically after the story develops, God is the main character).
Nevertheless, with this new banner image, I was able to get
majority of the graphics finished for the new design. As you may have noticed, I have not yet properly colored Adam yet, but if you can imagine a fully-colored Adam, you'll have a GENERAL idea of how the new layout is going to look (I still see things I want to tweak). Some key things to point out is that the layout is much more compact (750px versus the current 950px), the banner image is bulkier, and the sidebar is on the right side rather than left.
Let's tackle the first issue first...I decided on a more compact layout so that it will (once again) be okay to view for 800x600 computers. I happened to notice many college students (especially those with laptops) still use smaller monitors because of its portability...so I decided to downsize the site again. Plus if you're like me, I don't like to maximize my browser window, so it's a tad annoying to have to scroll horizontally because the site doesn't accommodate lower resolution window sizes.
Change number two: the banner image is bulkier. I intend to place the comic in an entirely different page (with a simpler design), so having a larger banner will still load considerably faster than a smaller banner with a comic page on it (as I have on this current design). In other words, I'm just taking advantage of the fact that I'm not placing the comic on the home page.
And finally, the sidebar is on the right side rather than the left. This was done because on lower resolution monitors, the content will be right assessable without having to scroll right. Also, search engine spiders search websites from top to bottom of the HTML...so presenting the content before the extra sidebar information is more friendly to non-human readers. Thirdly, also load from top to bottom, so this way the content will load before the sidebar links/advertisements.
PHEW. I'm done typing. Anyway I'll see you peeps laterz.
