ONE NEW PAGE, ONE NEW PREVIEW. Well, this week was the start of a new school semester for me. It's a bit too early to say how much time I'll be able to devote to Project ROL this semester, but hopefully I'll be able to at least pull out a page a week.
Page 72 is where I finally start trying to figure out how to develop the characters of the Project ROL cast. For the most part, I decided to rid of the submissive personality Yasu seemed to show previously and work on this "feisty" version of her. Plus it's much more fun drawing her with that little pout on the first panel. Plus, I never intended Yasu to be acting so powerless in the first place...but apparently that's the impression readers are getting.
Also, the odd way Yasu worded her sentence in the second panel is to relate this story with the one regarding the beginning of the universe. Yasu "granted" him another chance in life; God "gave" him life. Sadly, most casual readers will not catch that unless they read this little post I'm making here.
Completely off topic here...but there's one thing I've always wanted: to be the first person to show up when you search "Jason Lai" on Google, Yahoo!, MSN Search, and other search engines. But unfortunately for me, "Lai" is a rather common surname for the Cantonese (like Lee)...so there are a lot of Jason Lai's out there. And even more unfortunate, some of these Jason Lai's are more well-known than your average joe. The most prominent is some big-shot, award-winning Taiwanese conductor named Jason Lai; however there are also many university professors, researchers, engineers, and over-achieving students with the same name (lol, stereotypical Chinese guys O_o).
Anyway, I used to be on page 15+ on Google for some stuff I did back in high school, but that's like a small pebble at the bottom of a mountain. I'm not proud of that at all. So recently I added my name to the title of Project ROL (check the top of your browser) and bam. A day later, I'm suddenly top 10 in both Yahoo! and Google when searching Jason Lai. So now I've found a goal to accomplish this year; I'm determined to find my way to the #1 spot on major search engines. I don't care what site it is, but I will get myself up there. And once I do that, I intend to get to the top 10 of the search results with only my surname, Lai. Currently no one with the last name Lai is in top 10...so I'll be the first REALLY well-known Lai! (in English speaking countries >_>)
Haha, alright enough talk. I'm going to sleep now so I can get up for my early Friday classes...then I'll conquer the internet XD
