Page 34
Still in Canada (or at least I hope I am...). The yellow on this page is supposed to depict explosions and stuff. Now, I'd like to address what's happening in this page: even though I realize it looks like the Angel is causing the explosions, that's not my original intent. I'd like to think that it's the humans that are trying to hit the Angels...but of course, I didn't do a very good job on that since the Angel looks indifferent and there's been no indication that the humans are currently fighting back. In truth, it really doesn't matter who's creating the explosions. I mean, it really doesn't change anything...the point is that the cloaked guy is continuing down the path despite havoc occurring all around him.

I'm beginning to think I made Yasu a little on the stupid side. I mean, at this point. if the cloaked guy was really trying to go to the shelter...he'd realize he's going the wrong way and turn around...or at least be in a panicked mode right now. Obviously that's not the case since he hasn't even flinched yet (or at least I haven't drawn any hesitation in his movements). Despite that, Yasu is still chasing him down trying to get him to turn around and head for the shelter.

Luckily, to dispense the 'stupid Yasu' theory...I'm going to say it's fate that's making her act this way. It'll become a little more clear what I mean later, but I think that you can probably surmise what I'm referring to from the dialogue little Yasu (aka God) had on the first few pages of this graphic novel. Actually it's more of a monologue she had since it seemed as though the boy didn't react/say much back then...

Hmm...anything else I should address on this page? No, not really...this page and the last page (with the four panels of the Angel standing up) used up a LOT of ink. Inking the Angel is pretty tedious, especially the 'skin-less' part. Perhaps I should have done the skin on Photoshop rather than on paper...oh well. It's hard to back off now that the Angel design has already debuted. I don't think I can make the same effect on the computer...or at least I don't think it would save me much time doing it on the computer rather than just drawing it *shrugs*

I have no more pages for you. I'll be back mid next week...so hopefully you guys made plenty of interesting comments/emails for me to read when I get back ^_^
