Project ROL: Page 19

Page 19
The website has been down the past few days as I tried to sort out my new domain. I hope everyone found their way back here just fine, now that I've finally finished fixing the technical mumble jumble.

Here's the rundown: the old domain (rol-comic.com) will be used for archival purposes. Is archival a word? Anyway, the old domain will feature generations one to three. This new domain (projectrol.com) will only have generation four -- though I suppose I should probably stop calling it Gen4 that now that I've completely separated it from the my previous work.

Some things to note: all URLs are exactly the same minus the replacement of projectrol for rol-comic. Thus, in order to change any bookmarks, just change the rol-comic to projectrol...leaving the URI intact. In other words, 'www.rol-comic.com/blah/?1000' now becomes 'www.projectrol.com/blah/?1000'. I suggest changing all the bookmarks now to avoid confusion later.

Also changed the archives. Actually, all I did was get rid of the middle man (the page that listed all the generations) and left a little link on top to take readers to the previous generations. That link is pretty much the only thing connecting my old domain with my new one.

What else? Oh yeah...link exchanges. I'm going to be deceitful here and I apologize if this upsets any of my link exchange partners. TECHNICALLY, the link exchanges are affiliated with rol-comic.com and not projectrol.com. Thus, I'm going to keep their links on rol-comic.com and start over again from scratch on projectrol.com. I kind of want to disconnect myself from some of the *cough cough* lesser webcomics that I was affiliated with...but feel free to email me if you want to set up an exchange with projectrol.com ^_^

Anyway, why did I waste another nine bucks on a new domain when I already had a working one? Quite simply, I want to restart from scratch. Fresh new link exchanges, fresh toplist information, etc. Also, rol-comic.com just isn't specific enough. For me, if I see the website title, Project ROL, I would expect the domain to be projectrol.com, project-rol.com or, even simpler, rol.com (but that one's already taken). Plus, there's many technical advantages going on in the background of Project ROL, which I'm not going to discuss in public. Let's just say it's more profitable this way XD
