Submit your email address to the form below if you want a single email to be sent to you when Project ROL returns from its hiatus state. After those emails are sent, this address list will be deleted and never used again. If Project ROL does not return from its hiatus state, the list will never be used.
No updates this summer. I am currently pursuing a 10 week research program involving secondary structure protein folding in the field of bioinformatics and computational biology. They paid me a sum of cash and flew me out to a rather remote city so I would spend my 10 weeks focusing purely on research.
So what I've done instead is add a form on the home page that will allow you to add your email address to a list. When Project ROL comes out of hiatus, I will send a single email to everyone on the list informing you of the good news. On the other hand, if I never get around to starting Project ROL again, I will not touch those email addresses. In short, I promise I won't spam or send you unnecessary emails through the list.
Another option would be to subscribe to the RSS feed, since I doubt I'll be updating that anymore until Project ROL starts up again. Otherwise, the only other way to stay informed of Project ROL's status is to regularly check the main page...
Originally I stated that the comic will be up and running again on Summer 2009; however, now it appears I will be doing Undergraduate research for either University of Wyoming or University of Minnesota this summer. In the end, the choice of staying home and making webcomics for free doesn't quite beat getting a paid trip (travel and living expenses) to a city/state I've never been to (either Minnesota or Wyoming), research in a field I am quite excited about (Bioinformatics and Computational Biology), and to top it off, an additional $3500-5000 USD stipend into my wallet for working for them. Seriously, who wouldn't make the choice of accepting the fellowship offer?
Unfortunately, that also means that Project ROL will now have to be suspended for an indefinite amount of time. So for the time being, I will be using Project ROL as a mini deviantArt type of thing where I will upload random (art) stuff on page 98. I intend on uploading on top of page 98 over and over again, so remember than nothing will be permanent...including the uploaded artwork AND the comments you make on that page.
Nevertheless, I certainly hope you will be around the day I really do pick Project ROL back up again. Until then, good luck and good bye!
Sadly, it appears I am not able to find the time to update the comic; so, once again, I will be placing Project ROL on a temporary hiatus. Unlike the last hiatus...I am still satisfied with my current level of artwork, and am not taking a hiatus to "practice" my techniques. Thus, I may or may not be be uploading artwork on a regular basis. I will try, of course, but it depends on my time management skills XD
So anyway, this is a quick image of an Angelus. Though I did not reference my original design (thus the obvious differences), here is a link to page 33 where he originally debuted on Project ROL. It's hard to compare them since they were created with different techniques and have different levels of detail...but I personally prefer the direction the newer one is going.
